Nature Challenge: Day 1

The Sleeping Giant in Thunder Bay

This is the Sleeping Giant as seen from Sleeping Giant Provincial Park in Thunder Bay, Ontario.  It was voted the top of the list of Seven Wonders of Canada, unfortunately it didn’t make the official list as judged by the CBC (Canadian Broadcast Company).

According to an Ojibway legend, the sleeping giant is Nanabijou, the spirit of the Deep Sea Water, who was turned to stone when the location of a rich silver mine became known to the white man.

This is the first of seven posts in response to becomingduetsch  7-Day Nature Photo Challenge Series.

The rule for 7-Day Nature Photo Challenge is simple. Just post your favorite nature photo and nominate another blogger every day, for 7 days.  I nominate the1itinerary.com who’s letting me see Canada through someone else’s eyes.
